How right he is, indeed. No matter how much I think I know about my heart and what it means to love, I find myself constantly having to admit that I know nothing.
I always thought that if I poured as much energy, commitment, love and devotion as I could into my relationships, they would last. I assumed that if I gave everything, my partner would give everything back. But it doesn't work that way. Circumstances sometimes don't allow for that kind of transactional approach.
I've learned this the hard way.
